About Qi Gong

Qi Gong is a form of gentle exercise focused on cultivating “qi” while relaxing the body, synchronizing the breath, movement and visualization, and building flexibility, vitality and strength. When practiced regularly, Qi Gong can have amazing benefits for the overall health of the body, mind and spirit. Greg Carder emphasizes utilizing a Qi Gong practice to maintain health and heal from chronic illness.

Greg has been practicing Qi Gong for over 18 years and is a practitioner of East Asian medicine.  He has studied with many teachers with his main focus in Hunyuen Qi gong. He studied with Master Wang Fengman who is considered to be a lineage holder of Hunyuen style Qi Gong and Tai chi quan. Greg was introduced to Qi gong when he was diagnosed with a chronic illness in his mid 30s. Ultimately he gives credit to Qi gong and traditional medicine to for helping him to restore healthy function in his mind emotions and body.

“Qi Gong and Chinese medicine have completely changed my life. Nearly 20 years ago when I first began to practice Qi Gong, I was suffering from chronic health issues and losing the motivation to live my life fully. Shortly after I began my Qigong practice, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and Crohns disease. I suffered from chronic pain, digestive upset, fatigue, and depression. After practicing qigong for just a few weeks with dedication, I started to feel relief from the pain and some other symptoms improved in a subtle way; enough for me to be inspired to continue to practice. Since that time, I have continued to have a dedicated practice and not just because I wish to prevent disease but because of the quality of life I sustain through my practice. Qi Gong gets me in touch with how I truly feel inside and connects me with innate feelings of joy and gratitude that sometimes are hard to feel when we are living with chronic illness.”
