Who We Are

Alan Suhr
Alan Suhr is a 1995 graduate of the School of Mines and Technology. Alan also holds a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Master of Medical Qigong and certifications in Integrative Sports Medicine. His specialties include pain management, digestive disorders, PTSD and endocrine-related issues.

Alan grew up on a ranch in a small town in Nebraska. After graduating as an Electrical Engineer, he traveled the world. Alan found healing through Qigong which led to a desire to help others and to acupuncture. His best clients are those who are compliant and take an active role in their recovery.

With Nic and their son Caspian, Alan enjoys the great outdoors including biking, hiking, swimming, climbing, snowboarding and gardening. He is also passionate about reading, music and meditation. Alan and Nic chose Rapid City to raise their son and to bring acupuncture, medical Qigong and TCM to the region. Alan still has many friends from his time at SDSMT and the energy of the Hills continued to draw him back long after his college years.

Alan hopes to work with other local health care professionals to grow referrals for Thrive Acupuncture and Wellness and to enjoy time to travel.
